Challenges

  • Manual data entry and reading takes up a lot of workers’ time as the process is repeated during receiving, filling and tracking.

  • Manual data entry may be prone to errors. Inaccurate data can lead to misplaced cylinders.

  • Lack of updated data and operational status may often result in inability to identify theft and loss, and to locate assets when they are most needed.

Solution

All cylinders have their barcodes scanned at each delivery and when returned from customers by drivers and warehouse personnel with Chainway barcode handheld scanners C6000. This device is also used to scan the barcodes along with shipping document. This helps to ensure that the company are billing accurately and returning empty cylinders to the correct customers.

Effects

  • Total tracking means total control. This solution enables the company to maximize the return on these expensive assets as well as delivering large efficiencies in the overall business process.

  • Under 4G network, real-time tracking data can be updated in the company’s host server to automate the checking of product compliance.

  • Accurate data capture eliminates the mistakes of hand-written notes, and thus ensures right delivery and transport.
