Healthcare | Mobile Healthcare Solution for Hospital

Chainway offered a barcode-centered healthcare solution for a hospital in Southwest China to realize mobile healthcare. 

The healthcare industry is one of the world's largest and fastest-growing industries where efficiency and accuracy are vital. That's why IoT and Cloud computing technologies are more and more valued in healthcare these days. To improve patient care and operational efficiency, a hospital in Sichuan brought in Chainway's mobile healthcare solution, which include Chainway healthcare app for accessing to key information, Chainway C6000 healthcare PDA for capturing real-time healthcare data, and 1D/2D barcode labels for identifying patients and medicine. 

Medication administration
Before: 
Nurses and doctors still performed the check manually to see if there was a discrepancy occurred between the drugs received by the patient and the drug intended by the prescriber. This process was time-consuming, error-prone, and labor-intensive. 

After: 
Chainway handheld computer makes medication administration process fully digital, which allows for the scanning of a patient to confirm identity and scanning of the mediation to match it to the patient and the prescription. It ensures the Five Patient Rights: right patient, right drug, right dose, right method, and right time. 

Access information
Before:
Nurses and doctors did not have real-time access to the key information at bedside. They had to check the data they need back at their office.
If incidents occurred, paper-based healthcare records lack details to support staffing accountability. 

After:
All the key data, including patient’s medical record, prescription details and medication information, is accessible on Chainway healthcare app. Healthcare workers can reach the data they need on their Chainway PDA, tablet, or PC. Digital data brings paperless healthcare process in a wireless environment. 
If there is any incident, nurses can take pictures with the high-resolution autofocus camera of Chainway healthcare PDA to make a record, which is faster and more convenient in emergent conditions than typing words description.
