Security | RFID Access Control Enhances Social Safety

Iraq’s office buildings used Chainway handheld RFID readers at gates to manage the flow of white-collar workers for safety purpose.

Corporates in the buildings distributed RFID-enabled cards to employees, who tapped them on Chainway handheld devices held by security personnel to gain access to the buildings.

Every RFID card was embedded with a unique ID number which in the backend system was linked to a unique individual. That every time they tapped their cards to enter the building was then written to a database, providing a record of who was entering the building at a specific time. Now companies are able to monitor and authenticate their employees’ attendance.

Office buildings become more secure. Without presenting a valid card, one cannot enter the access-controlled buildings. The unauthorized parties need to register their personal information and whom they are visiting in the reception desk.

The handheld RFID readers, provided by Shenzhen Chainway Information Technology Co. Ltd. (Chainway), feature HF RFID and GPS functions with Wi-Fi, 3G, and Bluetooth connectivity. Compared to fixed security gates, handheld devices are much easier to deploy, more flexible and durable if some unrest incidents occur, and more economical to maintain.

These handheld readers prevent employee from holding doors for one another, and unauthorized parties from entering this way as well. Most of all, all the access data is written and transmitted to the management server via 3G or Wi-Fi connectivity in real time. Now the company knows exactly which person enters the building at what time. If anything happens, security personnel can send an alert via Chainway handheld RFID readers to the backend server.

Chainway handheld RFID reader creates more possibilities for facilities which aim to enhance security. It can also combine with cameras around the entrance to photograph individuals entering the workplace.
