Barcode Technology – The Best Solution for B to C E-commerce Company

Background
Headquarter in Beijing, JD Daojla is known as a leading e-commerce company in China. Company rank in the second position in China in terms of the highest volume and revenue. JD Daojla was using a location-based application which helped the company to deliver the order to the customer by picking the items from local shops. With the customer base of 266.3 million users, the company claimed to delivered orders within 2 hours. It developed a lot of pressure on supply chain and logistics management. Challenges
The company connected with a broad network of 100000 offline retailers, which covered 30 cities in China. It was a big task to deliver the products within 2 Hours. The company required a fast distribution channel which could provide quick delivery without any error.

Solution
JD Daojla procured Chainway’s C6000 mobile computer with 2D barcode for data capturing process. The device was mainly used by the delivery boys at the time of pick-up and delivery of the orders. An operator could easily capture the data just by scanning the barcode pasted on the items. Data communicated with the wireless network could update the backend database within a few seconds. The process reduced the precious time involved in recording the data entry.

Effects
  1. New process ensured online delivery, with the result orders and revenue has also increased. Now JD Daojla able to entertain more customer without any problem.
  2. Order tracking feature developed confidence among customers and retailers. They can easily track their order online and ensure the delivery of orders without any delay.
