With the increase in market size, the company felt a digital solution for fast and on-time delivery of goods. As a result, Souq applied mobile computer-based barcode system.
Challenges
The success of the online platform is depending on customer loyalty. As a big e-commerce company, Souq had millions of products in 31 categories. Which is why any delay in delivery directly affected customer loyalty.
Souq’s buyers and sellers were not limited to any boundaries. Company enrolled buyers and seller form many countries in the Middle East. So, they required a strong networking system to entertain the problems related to deliveries.
Manual data entry often ends up with inefficient inventory management and poor marketing activities.
Solution To overcome the above mention issues, Souq found Chainway’s C4000 mobile computer suitable for a barcode-based solution. souq integrated these devices with their barcode-based application. C4000 mobile computer with inbuilt barcode engine able to scan the barcode accurately and at fast speed. The whole process of inventory inbounds and outbound could be managed with these mobile computers. The data collection and entry process became possible on a real-time basis. End customer could easily trace the ordered item online. Workers in the warehouse could easily manage the inventory by allocating the item location through the mobile computer.
Effects
Buyers have real-time access to the data. Which mean, they can track the item in the supply chain online.
Manual process was labour intensive. with the new solution, Souq abled to achieve operational efficiency. Now fewer workers can manage the inventory and dispatch process with great accuracy.
With the improvement in delivery time. Customer loyalty has enhanced many folds.
