Smart Ticket Inspection Solution with Barcode Technology

Background
Located in the south-eastern part of Shanxi province, Taihang Grand Canyon is one of the most popular canyons in China. With beautiful landscapes, mild climate and scenic sports, it attracts tourists from every corner of the world. As an international scenic sport; maintenance and constant up-gradation of the standard of services is always a big task for local authorities. Thus, government authority deployed Chainway’s PDA for smart ticketing solution.
 
Challenges
  • It was easy to print a counterfeit paper ticket which used to be difficult for detection by the inspecting authorities. Due to which the administration had to bear and compensate for the losses incurred.
  • The manual method of inspecting the tickets was sluggish and often resulted in a lot of chaos. This used to be a huge disappointment and a reason of frustration for many visitors.
  • The entry ticket was not meant only for the purpose of entering the arena; it also included various other charges and surcharges for facilities inside the arena. The whole process of documentation of money spent by an individual inside the arena was an arduous task for the management.
 
Solution
Chainway Information Technology introduced a PDA based ticket inspection solution for the local authorities, which further improved the scenic sports ticketing process. Chainway deployed its C2000 mobile computer with 2D barcode for fast and secure ticket scanning. The inspecting authorities at entry points can easily scan the barcode embedded on the tickets and at the same time, data could be transferred to the server intermittently. The complete data of visitors such as name, number of visitors, total time & money and could be administered by authorities any time.
 
Effects
  • Each ticket has its unique identification code encoded in the 2D barcode, which can’t be counterfeited.
  • The handheld PDA has facilitated the automatic process of ticket inspection. Now visitors do not have to wait long at the entrance points.
  • With high customer satisfaction, worker’s motivation has also increased. The smooth process has reduced the stress level of the administrators.
  • The management has been able to provide better customer satisfaction which has further increased the flow of tourists for scenic sport.
