RFID Solution for Contestant’s Ticket Verification

Being held up annually since 1956, the Eurovision Song Contest is the longest running International TV Song Competition primarily among the member countries of the European Broadcasting Union. The event, which is touted to be the most watched non-sporting events with audiences somewhere between 100 to 600 million internationally. The 58th edition of the competition took place in Malmö, Sweden. Denmark with the song “Only Teardrops” by Emmelie de Forest triumphed the contest among 39 participant countries.
 
Challenges
  • Considering the number of participants, the management and ticket inspection of the participants was a taxing and tedious task, which requires the finest technical requirements.
  • The manual method of relying on inspectors’ eyes for identification is ineffectual and unreliable.
  • A deficit as far as real-time documentation of contestants’ attendance is concerned, left the whole process inaccessible thus hampering the management and documentation processes.
 
Solutions
With the introduction of C2000 data capture terminals, the identification and verification of the participants became dynamically accelerated by easily scanning and processing of documentation with unique ID barcodes. The collected data the can be transmitted to the online backend database which renders the whole process a conducive and effortless approach.
 
Effects
  • The intelligent Identification System brought about a substantial change, minimizing the competitors’ entry time and also arresting any kind of fraudulence or forgery.
  • The new age technology contributed high precision and efficiency to the whole process for a smooth competition and at the same time making the whole process accessible in real time for management.
