Barcode Technology – A Solution to Reduce Black Marketing in Rationing Shops

A fair price rationing shops have been organized by an Indian state government for the welfare of economically weak families, where people can purchase better quality food and other necessities at subsidized rates. This scheme is considered to be very effective to reduce the gap between rich and poor. The state has a very complex social structure and larger population data; therefore, it is quite unreasonable to using the manual method of verification because issues like black marketing and identification fraud always happened.

The traditional method of manual data documentation and approximating results under a heavy workload, high labor cost, low efficiency, and excessive error rate.
  • It is impossible to get accurate data of poor families in the state. It’s difficult to save and inquire about relevant information of the masses and procurement of records.
  • With inaccurate reference data of supply and consumption. It is tough for the government to analyse and forecast the exact requirement of necessary supplies. Thus, it is a difficult task to supply sufficient food items for families in the right place and at the right time.
